Cradled between the towering Nar and Narayana mountain ranges in the Chamoli district at 10,279 feet, Badrinath Temple is the most prominent of the four sacred Char Dham shrines, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Framed by the snow-capped Neelkanth peak and the rushing Alaknanda River, this brightly colored 50-foot conical shrine features sacred thermal sulfur springs (Tapt Kund) for pilgrims.
